About the Lieutenancy
Lord-Lieutenant's Voluntary Sector Forum
Champions of the West Sussex Community

The Lord Lieutenant’s Voluntary Sector Forum provides support and encouragement to the community in West Sussex. It harnesses the extensive networks and influence of lieutenancy members to bring together different areas of the voluntary world and forge valuable links.

A core group that meets on a regular basis draws together Deputy Lieutenants from across the county with representatives of the charity and community world to discuss current challenges and initiatives and look for practical ways in which the Lieutenancy can help.

Activities include:
-
Promoting the King’s Award for Voluntary Service - a valuable award and a good test for community organisations. For more information go to the King’s Award for Voluntary Service page or click here for the King's Award website.

sector roles, including chairs and trustees. -
Encouraging business engagement in the community.

Current initiatives

Sussex Charity Mentors
Charity Mentors Sussex was established in East Sussex some five years ago to provide free business mentors to charities, community groups and not for profit concerns. The forum is supporting the organisation’s expansion into West Sussex, helping to recruit new business mentors and trustees and promote the service to the voluntary sector.
